Today everyone gets to make something for their pet (or someone else if you don't have one... though you should go get one).
Has your dog always wanted to look like a squirrel?
Has your cat always wanted a hat?
Has your emu always wanted... umm... I'm not sure what emu's need...
If so, then here's the time to make them something!
Day 8- TV/Movies
For this challenge there was no way I couldn't do something from Mad Men. The problem was trying to figure out what to do. I ended up deciding on a couple pieces of art that are in Pete and Trudy Campbell's apartment (as shown here).
I used a canvas and black paint I had sitting around the apartment. The only problem I ran into was that I didn't slant the side ones enough, but you can't really tell!
We didn't have room in the apartment to put them next to eachother so we stacked them in our foyer area.

Day 8- TV/Movies
Day 8's challenge is to make something that you have seen on TV or in the movies that you have always wanted.
Do you love the whiskey glasses on Mad Men...
...the sonic screwdriver from Doctor Who...
...or the one of the many fantastic outfits the Dean wears on Community?
Now is your turn to make it! Use TV or movies as your inspiration for today's crafting!
Day 7- Fall Colors
For my fall colors inspiration, I attempted to make some candles for my scentsy. I had read online that you could melt wax and add a flavor/scent to it and you'd have your own diy scentsy... this didn't turn out so well. I thought I'd use coffee to try to make one that smelled of coffee whenever you melted it. The problem was that the wax and coffee kept separating. And in the mold, they separated completely. I ended up with coffee on the bottom and a wax block on top. So that was a fail craft... here are my photos anyways...

| Here it is in the warmer... fail. |

Day 7- Use Fall Colors
Outside my window there are beautiful fall colors in the park. Lots of the leaves have fallen, but the colors are still all around. For today's challenge, we are going to use fall colors as our inspiration. It doesn't matter what you craft/make, as long as there are some reds, browns, oranges, yellows, etc. somwhere in there!
And congrats to everyone for making it a week in!
Day 6- Flowers
For the flower challenge I refashioned a shirt. I shortened the sleeves, added cuffs, and made the flower from the excess fabric.

Day 6- Flowers
I love getting flowers. Whenever I have someone coming to visit, I end up buying flowers for the apartment. So for today's challenge, we are going to make something involving flowers. Maybe you are making cupcakes for the weekend and you can add some icing flowers to it. Or you're going to make a flower bouquet for the dining room from fabric or paper. Let flowers be your inspiration for today!
Day 5- Organization
My day of organization has been a busy one. I've only been home for about 2 hours today so this one had to be quick. I decided to do some organizing in the bathroom of our surfaces.
You might recognize these vases as ones that I made out of beer bottles. I then covered them in lace and wrapped some ribbon around it. They now decorate the area above our toilet...
And here's the space for towels. I didn't know what to put up here, so I added some hand towels, some books, a reed diffuser, and a candle/vase/ribbon thingy.
And here's my newly organized bathroom. In addition, I cleaned the bedroom last night... Here's the puppy afterwards...

Day 5- Keep Yourself Organized
On day 5 we get to get ourselves organized. If you're like me, there is always something in the apartment that is messy. No matter how much I organize, I always find a new spot where I can't find what I need. So for today we get to craft to organize a place. It can be something to help you stay organized, or it could just be cleaning up an area that has long needed it. Have fun!
Day 4- Inspiration from a Photo
I took a bit of leeway on this day of crafting. On Thursday we are going to a friend's birthday party and I wanted to cook something for it. So the overlap of the two was a necessity unless I wanted my head to explode. She is a big Doctor Who fan, so I tried to think of something to make relating to that. Foodgawker came to the rescue! Someone had created a dessert version of fish fingers and custard! Here's the video for those of you who are confused...
So my photo I guess is of the Doctor eating some fish fingers and custard. I also now want to call fish sticks fish fingers from now on...
The original recipe wasn't creative enough so I changed up a few things, including doing a completely different form of custard. What I made was a white chocolate pot de creme for the custard and vanilla cookies covered in graham crackers. The ones I'm bringing to the party are in chocolate crust shells also, but I forgot to take photos of that. Here is my final product! Also, sorry that I don't have photos during the process... I'm still without a computer so I can't hook up my camera yet. I also wish my i-pod took better photos, because I'm saddened by the loss of quality when I upload them.
This recipe is definitely a keeper! It is so good and it really does look like fish fingers and custard!!! Allons-y!!!

Day 4- Use a Photograph for Inspiration
Today you should use a photograph for your inspiration. The photo can me something you found online, or it can be something you've taken. And if you can, please post the photo too so we can see where your inspiration came from. This was is wide open to interpretation!
Day 3- Food
And here's the recap from my crafting for the day. The challenge was a food challenge and I had been wanting to make baked cinnamon apples for a while. But these aren't just any cinnamon apples!
All you have to do is remove the core from an apple (but not all the way down to the bottom. Fill it with brown sugar, put a tablespoon of butter on top and sprinkle with cinnamon. I baked it at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
And ta-da! A fast cinnamon apple! It was good, but I think I'd rather just make a apple pie...

Day 3- Food Related
And on to day 3!
Make something food related. It could be something in the kitchen (like dinner!), or it could be something you'd use with food (like a new tablecloth), or it could just have images of food all over it. Be creative!!!
What I did for Day 2- Make a Card
I have never made a card before, besides really crappy ones when I was little on the computer. So this was completely new to me. I thought it'd be fun to give it a bunting look (nice and celebratory). I took little pieces of paper and colored the brightly with the only markers I had... washable. These markers came in handy for my Halloween costume this year (which I'll post about when I get a computer again), but not so much for this. After coloring, I glued them to some string and glued it to the front of my card.
I think it would have turned out much better if the washable markers hadn't started to run... I don't think you can see it in the photo, but the glue I used was making the markers smudge... Not the best card I've seen, but at least I tried something new!
